Introspection

My father Shri Chimnaramji and mother Shri Tulsi Bai lived in Varkana, a small village in Pali district in Rajasthan. Being from the Jangid society, they used to do the spiritual work of wood. I was born to him on Shravan Shukla Saptami of Vikrami Samvat 1996. At that time, even today the old people are frightened by the name of the sixteenth famine. That is, it was a time of terrible famine of that century. The disease of smallpox used to spread a lot in childhood and health centers were also located in big towns, so smallpox left traces of its disease on me at that time, which is present on my nose today.

At the age of four or five, he was enrolled in a primary school in the village of Bijowa, which is three kilometers from Varkana. At that time high school education in Varkana used to start from class VI. The children of the village used to take their bags to the primary school Bijowa, where there was no road and no other means of transport, while going from Varkana to Bijowa, they had to go through the water drain. In which water used to flow in the rain. In those days the use of pens was restricted, so one had to travel on foot carrying ink and a holder in hand. The discipline in the primary school was so severe that if one student of the class made a mistake, the teacher would take the students of the whole class to the pond and there would be orders to hold the banyan branches and swing them. Sometimes, if one student did mischief in the class, the whole class would get punished for being a cockerel.

When I came to class VI, I got admission in my village Varkana itself. Due to the high school being run by the Jain society, only Jain students could stay in the hostel, so the non-Jain students studying in the school could study outside. In this way, he completed his education from class VI to high school in his village itself. In their longing to see the city, he used to go to his relatives in Pali during the summer holidays. He used to learn woodworking during the day. Enjoyed the pleasure of staying in the night shift. A luxurious house of an engineer was ready in Pali, then one day my relatives took me to their bungalow for a feast, then seeing them inspired me that I too should become an engineer.

With this thinking, I requested my teachers, they told me that in Jodhpur Engineering College, the entrance examination is conducted in English medium, and upon successful completion of engineering studies, it was a problem for me at that time that I did high school in Hindi medium. So it was very difficult to pass Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics papers through the English medium. The headmaster said, what can this artisan’s boy give, will he be able to read books? You are encouraging him in vain, but that teacher provided me with the books of all those intermediate classes and guided me. At that time I appeared in the entrance examination of only Jodhpur Engineering College in Rajasthan and passed 11th in Rajasthan. This was possible due to the grace of Gurudev Shri Bhatnagar Sahib and Shri Shyamlal Ji Mital of that time.

Shri Parshvanath Jain Vidyalaya Varkana made me a member of the school management committee from 1963 to 1978. During school, Shri Harishankarji was so fond of Parsai that while studying at night, he used to carry the book saying that now go to sleep son, I will wake up in the morning. I would open my window early in the morning and I would greet him and he would bless me. Loved all the teachers. So he stood first in the class. I started crying when I got 46 marks out of 50 in math in class ninth. Father went to the headmaster and the headmaster himself came and said that less than four marks does not matter.

At the time of schooling, he went to Jaipur on behalf of the school at the All India Scouts Guide Jamboree (II) in Jaipur in 1956. One year before that, after doing 21 days of labor in Desuri and digging a pond as a scout, you would be surprised that you had to write with ink and holder till the high school exam. There was no electricity system in the village. Therefore, studying under the light of lanterns, studying in a secluded residence, under a small hill tree near Rabari’s dhani of Varkana village, Shri Sampatraj Ji Bhansali was the possession of the Jodhpur people on the post of superintendent of the school’s hostel, remembering the subject of physics and chemistry. . He was omniscient, keeping me as his son and getting me to write the answers to his letters sitting on the floor next to him. While the headmaster would come to meet him, he would talk standing near the lesson, he did not have the courage to sit near him on the floor.

My Father’s financial condition was not so good that he could get me admission in a hostel, but he got me admitted to an engineering college. By the grace of God, a Jangid family (Shri Sharma ji Gulab Sagar) gave me a room at their house without rent to stay and study. I had taken a loan of Rs 2000 for a college education, which was later completed by deducting it from my salary. He did his entire engineering education by staying at his home. The engineering college was 5-6 kilometers away from home. Where at that time there was commuting by cycle, Guru Ji Shri Kaushal Raj Ji Mandari, a resident of Jodhpur, was a teacher in Varkana since childhood. He always corresponded with me, but did not take money from Dad for postcards, etc. He also taught me post office work and on coming to Jodhpur, his Brother in law, Professor Shri Devraj ji Mehta was my mentor during college.

During college, food was arranged at Shri Mahavir Lodge Station Road. The owner of the hotel Shri Rameshwar Ji Agarwal is a gentleman and has had a close family relationship with him since that time. He has remembered me on every occasion in his home. He has been in constant contact with him for the last 50 years.

After completing my engineering education, I got a job in the post of junior engineer at the new thermal power station located in Jodhpur. After becoming a junior engineer, Gulab Sagar had taken a house on rent in the children’s street. We were married in childhood by my father and we got married in 1962 after getting a job as a junior engineer, that is, married life started in 1962. My in-laws’ place is in Dadai village which is two kilometers away from my village. When I remember the wedding in my childhood, I find that the procession went from my village to the in-laws’ bullock cart and the bullocks of my cart were kept in the forefront. At the time of the round in the marriage, I was persuaded to feed myself with the address. Later my wife managed the house smoothly, took good care of the children, and did not let me face any dilemmas in getting the job done. Father used to tell me that at that time 400 rupees were spent on my marriage and there was a mass marriage of eight girls.

Along with Lal Singh Purohit, who is also a neighbor in Varkana, sometimes the family used to stay with him when he was alone in Varkana Haveli Sojati Gate Rahato Tho.’ Lal Singh’s wife’s name is Madan Kavar, so on the same lines, I changed my wife’s name from Bhanwari to Bhanwar Kavar, which is in all government records.

In 1970, the department sent me to Harishchandra Mathur Institute of Public Administration, Jaipur for training and after two and a half months of training, I was posted in Jaipur. Changed three rented houses in Jaipur, but did not enjoy it, then searched for a fourth house in the Shastri Nagar area of Jaipur. There the landlord told me “We will have the following conditions for rental”:

  1. You will live in the house as an associate, not as a tenant.
  2. Your children will be able to come to our rooms and our children to your rooms.
  3. Needless to say out loud to pay rent that Pareek Sahib

Take.

We stayed with him for only 8 months, then after being promoted to the post of assistant engineer, went to Avrol but Pareek sahib would keep coming to meet him wherever posting happened later. Even today his demeanor is friendly and has been maintained for the last 38 years.

220 KV at Achrol It was invested in the construction of the line which was to connect Badarpur to Jaipur. The fort built on the mountain of Achrol, was taken on rent for his office and the furniture of Achrol Thakur, which was made in England, would have been used for our office and home. After Achrol in 1974 my Posting was done in Sub-Division Falna as per the instructions of MLA Mr. Mohanlal Ji. But in 1975, Chirawa sub-division was merged into the Jhunjhunu district, which is a Jat majority.

When the duty was joined in Chirawa, at that time the strike of the staff and farmers was going on. After five-six days, Mr. Panchal Saheb, Superintending Engineer, Sikar, accompanied by his Accounts Officer and Personal Office, came to Chidawa and resolved all the problems and talked to the Chairman and Secretary on the telephone and got the strike called off. Shri Shishramji Ola was dominant in that area but I had his full mercy. When I was transferred from Chirawa to Raniwara, he said on the telephone that do not charge the next assistant engineer, I will get your transfer canceled by talking to the Chief Minister of the state by tomorrow evening. I myself tried to get the Raniwada transfer done. Therefore, Netaji was relieved by telling two to three heads.

Panchayat Samiti was to be electrified in Raniwara. So rented a house in Malvada village and started working again under lantern light. Worked as Raniwara Subdivision from 1976 to 1979. After the transfer to Barmer in 1979, the farewell ceremony continued for a week on behalf of the villagers, in which all the government officials posted at Raniwara station would also attend. On the last day, about 150 people attended the farewell ceremony given by Shri Shantilal Sharma and Mafatlal Shah and a confectioner was called from Jodhpur. Even today I have not forgotten the love of the villagers of Raniwara area.

Barmer was transferred from Raniwada in 1979. At that time in Barmer there was electricity only in the city area. After that one crore rupees were deposited in the PHED department for external water supply schemes in the Electricity Board. Then Mr. Prithvi Singh ji Chairman posted one Executive Engineer and five Assistant Engineer May staff to Barmer. Then the outlying villages of Barmer district could be electrified and the pumping stations of the water works, which were earlier running on diesel, started running on electricity.

Once there was a poetry conference of Barmer Kaka Hathrasi. We, along with Mr. Babel and his family, went to the school grounds to listen to (Uncle) Hathrasi. That night, it was the peon who had stolen the house of Babel Saheb, which was recovered by the efforts of Shri Ramjivan ji Meena SP.

After that, it was transferred to Sojat sub-division in 1981 and it was transferred to Sirohi in 1983. In 1984, both the girls were married at Rani station by renting four houses. In the marriage, the employees of Rani Vidyut Mandal gave full help in the marriage and the people of the queen, public representatives and industrialists graced the wedding and arranged for the stay and food arrangements of the wedding processions in Jain Dharamshala. Bala Satiji had told the marriage muhurat, etc., because my daughter Kusum was engaged in Jodhpur under her guidance.

After staying in Sirohi for about a year, the transfer was again to Jalore subdivision. In Jalore, Mr. Manoharlal Ji was very kind to the District Collector. The then Executive Engineer in Jalore also made a special contribution that he had put the responsibility of the Executive Engineer office on me before promotion.

In the year 1985 in Jalore, Mr. Butasingh G.M.P. was to be elected. The then collector had given me the power of collector while being on the post of assistant engineer. And the executive engineers of all other departments were directed to take permission from me before leaving the headquarters. After that, in 1985, I was promoted to Executive Engineer Electricity Board, Chaumu, District- Jaipur.

From 1985 to 1990, I was working in Chaumu. When Chaumu joined, the then Superintending Engineer Shri R.K. Sood said that you will not be able to walk here even for three-four months, this is a very infamous division and every year junior engineer or assistant engineer is suspended and the executive engineer gets the charge sheet. By the grace of God, the time of four and a half years was successfully removed. For which the District Collector, President Electricity Board, and Chief Engineer appreciated my work in writing.

Developed the Jaitpur Industrial area and after electrification gave connections to many industrial establishments. During the service of Chaumu Khand, my elder son was admitted to Agrawal College, Jaipur. And for his stay, Shri Rampalji Sharma, a native of Chaumu, contacted the people of Jobner Bagh. He said, ‘At present, we keep it in my house itself. Then I will get it done in a rented room after looking at another place.” I would visit him in Jaipur and request that Babuji look into the room for my boy soon, he would keep on assuring him that he would study with his grandson in a room for the boy. You will be surprised that he kept my eldest son in his house like a grandson and did not send it anywhere for rent. Neither took any rent nor did any expenditure on food on my sons. Stayed and is till today. Blessed are such Jangid brothers Shri Rampalji Sharma.

While posting in Chaumu, there was complete harmony with the employees and the public and the artisans. Because of which all the Pradhans and all the MLAs would also appreciate the work of Chaumu Khand in every meeting.

In 1987, Shri Madanlal died in an electrical accident at Pareek’s Rampura Dabri 33/11 KV sub-station in Chaumu. I also attended his cremation along with all the assistant engineers. Then Sarpanch Rampura Dawdi said that there is no one earning in his family now, nor does he have land and property. So his wife will start begging on the road.

All the engineers decided on the same day that financial help should be given to its family. A plot given in the village was bought in the name of the widow through the sarpanch. The staff got a house made for him after deducting from his salary and the Chairman Electricity Board gave the job of a peon to his wife on our recommendation. Received compensation of about 80 thousand rupees for death and the family is now leading a happy life. Widow’s son joined IIT in 2007. I was studying in Delhi.

I got myself Transferred from Chaumu Division by requesting to the then Chairman Electricity Board and joined the duty in January 1990 in Electricity Board Headquarters.

In the month of may After leaving my Chaumu Division, all the Assistant Engineers and Executive Engineers got the charge sheet and the Superintending Engineer was also awarded the charge sheet. All the Assistant Engineers were transferred and the then Executive Engineer Shri RK. Dixit died in the office itself. After that, I met the then Chief Engineer Mr. M.P. in the last week of May. When I met Vyas in Jaipur, he said, how did you get out of Chaumu four years after success, tell me this? In this manner, the work of the Chaumu Division was completed successfully.

In 1991, he was transferred to the post of Executive Engineer, Falna. That year, Parasram Mahadev Temple, Sadri Temple was electrified 7 km from Sadri, 11 KV. Line 63 KVM The sub-station and 15 LT Poli were constructed in just 21 days, which is a record.

While living in Falna, improvement programs of waltose were done for Shri Nimbeshwar Mahadev Temple, Falna Saranwas Teerth Desuri.

I was posted twice in Balna when the MLA of Balna area, Shri Bhairu Singh Ji Shekhawat was The Chief Minister,  the industrialists of the Falna Industrial Area of the Electricity Department praised the Falna section, in a meeting with Mr. P N Bhandari, the chairman of the Electricity Board, the day 220 kV G.S.S. Bali had its inaugural event.

Got transferred to Sojat Division in 1997 and retired on 30 June 1999.

Maintaining direct communication with the public in the job. I used to teach my subordinate assistant engineers and junior engineers all the time that they should not harass the consumers by repeatedly calling their office. If that work is not in your jurisdiction then send it to me. I would try my best to satisfy them or send their case forward. Because of this, there was no beating and misbehavior by the public during my tenure, and even today where the posting remained. If I go, I get respect from the public there. The image of the department should be excellent, is what I have always tried. Because of this Mr. PN Bhandari Chairman was completely satisfied with my work.

After retirement, in the year 2010-11 in Subhash Nagar Colony of Jodhpur, house no. 23 also built and started residences. By the grace of God, both the boys are smart and obedient. The happy big boy is an export manager in a jewelry firm in Jaipur and lives with his family in Jaipur in his own flat, currently Joint Director, NIFT Kolkata. Umesh, the younger boy, is a general manager in a textile factory in America and handles exports to other countries of the world. He, with his family, worked first in Bangkok (Thailand) and later in North Carolina (North America) and now in Brazil. After this, I, with Shri Vishwakarma Jangid, was associated with Panchayat Jodhpur, and Vishwakarma Public School located in Shastri Nagar was started in it, in which I was also taken as a member of the Management Committee. In Jodhpur, Vishwakarma Jagid Karamchari Samiti was operational for years. I got acquainted with the retired and serving employees and officers of Jangid society.

Ashok Udyan is just 1.5 kilometers away from my residence Subhash Nagar. Every morning I leave the house at 6 am and go to Ashok Udyan on foot and return home at 7.30 am after walking and exercising. Some 55 people who roam here have formed an organization named “Smile Senior Citizen Family” in which I am also a member. On the first Sunday of the month at 6 o’clock in the evening, a meeting is held in the Ashok Udyan itself, in which there is an exchange of ideas and arrangements for snacks. This institution puts pots for the public in the Ashok Udyan in summer.

Since 2001, the Vidyut Mandal Retired Officer Service Institute was established in Jodhpur, in which the executive members are elected after every two years and I got the opportunity to be a member of the same, for the last 8 years.

Every second Sunday of each month, The members of the Executive Council hold an executive meeting in the home of every member, one after the other which ends with lunch.

On the occasion of Holi, Diwali, New Year, the meeting of the general body of the organization is organized to meet and greet the affection of family members, and a co-banquet is also held in the evening.

In the year 2010-11, a group of some enlightened Jagid brothers, Jangid Brahmin Mitra Mandal was formed. On the second or third Sunday of the month alternately, a meeting is called at 6 pm at a member’s house. The meeting then ends with a snack. Due to this, discussions on family relations and problems with each other and resolutions of service to the society are also held.

The names of the friends of Jagid Mitra Mandal are as follows

Sarv Shri Bhagirath Sharma, Dr. Jyoti Swaroop Sharma, Ramchandra Jangid, Sohanlal Jangid, Dharamdev Sharma, Motilal Sharma, Kishanlal Sharma, Ramlal Jangid, Dr. Rasaram Sudhar, Shyamsunder Ladrecha, Dr. Dharmendra Sudhar, Rawallabh Jangid, Rameshwar Jagid, Prahlad Sahai Jangid, Indraraj Sharma, Jyoti Swaroop Sharma, Sumermal Jangid, Girdhari Lal Jangid, N.K. In this way, the time of retirement is getting busy. God’s Million Thanks and blessings
