I spent my childhood in the village and did my schooling in the village school. In 1959, when I was born in Rakh Jodhpur Engineering College, I got a chance to live in the city for the first time. The financial condition of the house was not so good that I could stay in the college hostel. Then my uncle came to Jodhpur and talked to his acquaintance Sharmaji and asked him to stay in a room at his house and he gave his approval. From there he used to go to the engineering college every day on a bicycle, about 6 kilometers away. I stayed at his home throughout my college tenure. He did not take room rent for so many years and treated me like a younger brother. Although I had kept food arrangements outside in the hotel. Luckily after studies, got a job as a junior engineer in Jodhpur and then in the same locality. Lived in a separate house for about 9 years. Later also he gave immense affection, which remained till his death. Salute to his departed soul again.
In 1970-71, I was transferred from Jodhpur to Jaipur Electricity Board. First started looking for a house to live in, then got acquainted with Pareek sahib, who lives in Shastri Nagar, in his house two rooms, kitchen and bathroom were available for rent. Talking about taking rent, he put three conditions, first, the part of this house you will keep for rent, consider it yours. Second condition, your children will be able to move freely in our rooms and our children in your rooms. Third condition, whenever you pay rent, do not call loudly, whenever I come out of the room, give it. Both of our rooms were facing each other. Even today I have not forgotten his terms. After 8-9 months, there was promotion to the post of Assistant Engineer and posting in Achrol, it was Pareek sahib who went with us to Achrol to find a rented house for us. After that Pareek sahib had so much love that wherever I would be transferred, he would come to meet me from Jaipur. Whenever I went to Jaipur after posting outside, I would definitely go to meet him at his house. You will be surprised to know that after thirty-five years when I married my little boy in Jodhpur, then he came from Jaipur and attended the wedding. I Thank God a million times that he continues to talk with me on the telephone even today at the age of 86.
In 1985, as the Executive Engineer, Electricity Board I was serving in Chaumu. In 1986, my son was admitted to Agrawal College, at Sanganeri Gate, Jaipur. Initially he kept traveling from Chomu to Jaipur by bus to college but as it was affecting his studies my son asked to find a room on rent to stay in Jaipur. I asked Rampal ji, a resident of Chaumu, who lived in Jaipur, to find a rented room for the boy. He said, shift your son with us and let him stay with my grandson in his room. Then after taking the room on rent at the appropriate place, we will shift him there. You will be happy to know that he kept my son at his house for about one and a half years and also arranged for breakfast, food and drink as a member of the house.
After many requests neither did he take the rent nor the money for the food arrangement. He always loved our family. Salute to his divine soul again.
That’s why I think what I said is right.
Such gentlemen are rarely found.
